Writers Who Don’t Write

Sorry for the belated blog post—I was out with some friends who won’t be in town for too long last night and completely forgot about uploading the post.

Anyways, this has been an interesting week insofar as doing a lot of writing related work but not getting so much of the actual writing done. I imagine this is the curse of self-publishing your own work, or possibly just being an author in general. I’ve heard that many a new author ends up doing a lot of their own PR/ non-writing related work.

The most prevalent of which was, of course, the ongoing battle with formatting the physical copy of my book. I believe that I’m nearly finished with the whole process, and in the next day or two I should be picking up a copy for myself to check out. If everything clears the inspection, I’ll fire it off to the rest of the world. Don’t get me wrong—it’s terribly exciting to have real paper books coming out, but at the same time, I’m really, really looking forward to getting back to writing and creating.

Another little bit of PR that I did was go on the radio over at http://cjsf.ca/. A few friends of mine run a show, and have been very cool about helping me promote my books. You can listen to the full interview over at http://cjsf.ca/pguide/grid/description.php?ID=304 (the December 15th recording). It should be up for a few weeks, at least. I’ve also managed to yoink the mp3 files from the site, and possibly after a little bit of legal questioning, I might be able to throw them up somewhere if the station permits. The radio interview was really quite a lot of fun (and I didn’t sound too terribly awkward) so give it a listen if you’ve got some free time.

I know this post is a little bit short, but the next one is just about twice as long, so be prepared.
