Someone Forgot to Update His Website

Hey all,

It’s been a rainy few days here in Vancouver, and I just realized as I started to write this post that I’ve entirely failed to update any element of my website. I’ll make a point of doing that tomorrow as soon as I get up. I have some general touchups that I’ve jotted down, so the process shouldn’t take more than an hour or so. Terribly sorry about that, it completely slipped my mind.

Now, part of the reason that I’ve been bad about my website is that I’ve been good about working on my horror story. I think I’m nearly at the point where I can start writing it. This feels a little weird to me, because I generally let a book stew in my head for a billion years and then just start to write, skipping the early planning stages. Every Dreamstate book has literally gone that way—I plan once I knock out the first couple chapters, when the core of the book really starts to unfurl. Anyways, I have a solid book outlined and I might kick into it starting tomorrow.

I also need to start editing this week. I find that if I break the book into sections, and work on maybe ten or twenty pages a day (depending on the insanity of the piece) I can get through the whole thing in a week or two. This also frees up a lot of my later day to work on other projects—I would edit for twenty hours a day if I let myself. I have a terrible love/hate relationship with the grunt work aspect of chopping out bits that bother me/ putting in new content and messing with the grammar. I like that I can just grind through it, but I really do hate the monotony (I tend to zone out after too much editing and miss big mistakes). So in summation, I need to limit myself to a set number of pages a day, which gives me time to do things like fix up my website and write another book.

I seem to actually have enough content for this post that I don’t really want to throw up pictures from my horror journal quite yet. I think that if I do I’ll end up running a super long post here, or I’ll just end up cutting the journal stuff short. I think next time would be the best for putting up the images/pages and then talking about them for a bit.

Also, the final title of the second Dreamstate book is going to be, dundundundunnnnnn!: Dreamstate II: Wretched Throat

I’ll let you folks try and muddle through what that might mean in the context of the book series for a few weeks before I drop any new tidbits of info/hints.

-Trevor
