So Very Cold

Hey all,

Super short post today, not all that much to talk about even though I’ve been busy. Most excitement comes when something is finished, started upon, or I get stuck on something… none of these things have happened.

It has gone beyond freezing here over the past day or two. There was a wind coming through the other day that is now gone (thankfully) but much of the day is now spent being below freezing. I do like the cold, but I have limits, and generally freezing is that limit. There are only so many sweatshirts I can wear at once before I lose the ability to move my arms.

Books are still going well. I finished up the first chapter of my new book, and once I touch up just a few things I can pass it off to Charlotte and then dig back into the Dreamstate II stuff uninterrupted. I really wanted to finish the first chapter before I got back into the editing, because I know it is going to occupy my time for the next while. I like to do one thing at a time (multiple projects just scatter my brain a bit more than I like). Also, despite the general trimming I gave to the first chapter, in order to make it work (lengthwise) I had to end the chapter in a place that wasn’t what I’d envisioned, but works out fine. The themes tend to line up a bit better this way, but the excitement is a little more compartmentalized. Oh well, if Charlotte says ‘Bleh, this is dull,’ I can rework a few things to make it more fun.

Oh, hey, tentative name for the new book is Song of the Shadowmen, but I have no idea if it’s going to stick. We’ll have to see if I can’t come up with something I like better before I finish writing it.
